Description
Established in 2018, the Ltyentye Apurte Traditional Craft Centre, is made of proud local men who carve traditional tools significant to their culture from locally sourced wood found in the surrounds of their community, on Eastern Arrernte Country. A variety of boomerangs, coolamons, clap sticks, spears, shields, and more are made from woods such as Mulga, Mallee and Bean Tree. The men pay respect to the wood, which has provided for and supported their ancestral story for thousands of years, by highlighting the organic and natural beauty found deep within the woods they use to carve these tools, and wish to share a part of their cultural story with you.
