Red Centre Events

Central Australia is home to a wide range of events that you will not find anywhere else in the world, each with their own quirk. With a jampacked calendar full of events throughout the year, every weekend you will find something happening, from small community events to world class festivals. From adventure and action to arts and culture, whatever experience you’re looking for, we’ve got it.

The region is renowned for its arts and culture, with many festivals throughout the year to celebrate. Find your perfect piece of artwork at the famous Desert Mob, which runs in September, alongside Desert Song and Desert Festival, showcasing a line up of local and interstate performers. Immerse yourself in Central Australian Aboriginal culture, where stories come to light at Parrtjima, a festival of light.

Never have you ever seen a Camel Race? Well.... There is one in Central Australia, where camels race around a dusty outback track! If that doesn't float your boat, how about a dry riverbed regatta? The Henley on Todd Regatta is the only boat race that gets cancelled if the river is flowing.

Find your perfect beanie at the Alice Springs Beanie Festival, where you can choose from over 7000 beanies! When you’ve found your perfect knitted hat, rev up for motor heads' dream weekend such as the Red CentreNATS and Finke Desert Race.

Clear skies don’t only make it perfect for star-gazing, but for enjoying evenings with FABalice festival, a weekend full of celebrating everything rainbow, inspired by Priscilla Queen of the Desert. That is the only time in Alice Springs when all the stars sparkle on Earth!
