With Nuance Tours you'll get:

Professional Service: Nuance Tours offers a professional and personalised experience with the option to customise your own tour itineraries.

Expert Guide: Andrew is not your typical tour guide. With a background as rich and diverse as the landscapes he traverses, he brings a depth of knowledge and experience that sets him apart in the world of Australian bushmen. As a highly commended and awarded landscape photographer, Andrew has an innate understanding of the natural beauty that lies within Australia's vast deserts. Armed with medium and large format film cameras, he captures moments of raw beauty that few others can rival.

Andrew's connection to the desert runs far deeper than just a photographer's lens. For the past eight years, he has called Central Australia home, immersing himself in the rugged terrain and forging bonds with the land and its people. During this time, he spent six years working closely with the Pitjantjatjara people, learning their culture and gaining invaluable insights into their deep connection to the land.

His journey led him to work as a ranger coordinator in the Indigenous Ranger program for four years, where he was stationed in Kaltukatjara NT, Kunawaritji WA, and Mulan WA, some of Australias most remote communities. It was here that Andrew truly honed his skills as a bushman, learning from Indigenous people everything he knows about navigating the vast expanses of the Australian desert.

Andrew's time as a ranger coordinator was not just about administrative duties; it was about supporting the culture and traditions of the people he worked alongside. He became a speaker of Pitjantjatjara, a testament to his dedication to understanding and respecting the culture of the land he called home. Through this immersion, he developed lifelong relationships with a Pitjantjatjara family and a Walmatjari family. Starting Nuance Tours gave Andrew the freedom and ability to travel and maintain these relationships.

Andrew's expertise extends beyond cultural understanding; he is also one of the best four-wheel drivers around. Having explored almost every desert 4WD route in Australia, he possesses an intimate knowledge of the terrain and the skills to navigate it safely. His experience in remote travel and safety is unparalleled, ensuring that those who embark on his tours are in the most capable hands.

One of Andrew's most memorable experiences was participating in expeditions in the Great Sandy Desert and Central Ranges with indigenous rangers. These expeditions were not just about exploration; they were about reconnecting elders with sacred sites they hadn't visited since childhood. Andrew’s four wheel drive skills played a vital role in these journeys, spending more time off-track than on-track. As Andrew embarks on this new chapter of his journey, founding his own tour company offering private 4WD tours throughout Australia's deserts, he brings with him a lifetime of experiences and a passion for sharing the beauty and wonder of the outback with others. For those who choose to join him on this adventure, they can rest assured that they will not only see the desert but truly experience it through the eyes of a true pioneer in desert exploration.
