Tangentyere Artists is responsible for optimising cultural, social and economic outcomes for all artists.
Description
Town Camp artists are renowned for the diversity of their creative styles, from abstract to figurative and narrative art. In these paintings Tangentyere Artists portray the many different camps, both town and bush that each artist calls their own. These places are filled with family, shared stories, and personal and ancestral histories. The artists combine their traditional Tjukurrpa with social and personal histories to paint the rich images that are their lives. As they celebrate the Town Camps, the surrounding MacDonnell Ranges and their Country beyond, so these places bring inspiration, comfort and joy to the Tangentyere Artists.
Tangentyere Artists Aboriginal Art Centre has also run a not-for-profit Gallery since 2013. The Gallery services Town Camp Artists, and promotes other Central Australian Remote Art Centres, through targeted exhibition opportunities for the local audience. Tangentyere Artists is a successful social enterprise with a loyal artist group and audience, committed to the production and exhibition of ethical, innovative, sustainable, quality arts outcomes for all.
