What better way to experience the Red Centre than to learn from the Traditional Custodians of its ancient lands. Learn about the artistic styles of Anangu artists at Uluru, or discover the diversity of Aboriginal language and cultural groups in Watarrka (Kings Canyon), Angkerle Atwatye (Standley Chasm), Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and Larapinta (Finke River).
Maruku Arts collective offers two fantastic cultural experiences at Uluru: discover the Kuniya Walk while your Anangu guide explains Creation-time stories depicted in the caves, or discover the ancient symbols used in Anangu art and teachings at the open-air Dot Painting Experience.

For those who want to experience more than just the touristy side of ‘the rock’, you simply must book the SEIT Patji tour. Hear from the Traditional Owners themselves how Paddy Uluru fought for Aboriginal land rights, and what unfolded to get Uluru where it is today.
On this half-day tour, you will learn how the Anangu live in this extraordinary environment and are connected with the land. Listen to stories passed down from Elders and their interpretations of rock art, and learn the art of dot painting yourself.
Primarily running during the peak visiting season, you have the chance to interact with and observe Indigenous artists in-residence working inside the gallery space. Refer to the Gallery of Central Australia webpage for more information on artists in residence.
