Uluru is home to some of the world’s most inspiring experiences, but arguably one of the best is dining under a star speckled sky in the middle of nowhere - magic. There’s three exceptional ways to dine under the sky at Uluru; Sounds of Silence, A Night at Field of Light and Tali Wiru. And while all are exceptional, they’re each unique and it’s well worth knowing what they entail before trying them all!
Included in the Tourism Hall of Fame in 1999, Sounds of Silence is worth crossing ocean & desert for on its own. This 4 hour tour of the night sky starts on a sand dune overlooking Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park with canapes & champagne.
You’ll then listen to local didgeridoos as the sun falls and take your place at a completely open air dining arena. With just the sounds of the earth moving & breeze in the sands, you’re then treated to a world class bush tucker inspired interactive chef experience with all produce locally & freshly sourced.
With a satisfied belly & imagination flowing you’ll be treated to a tour of the night sky by the resident star talker. No where else on earth will you hear all the secrets of the universe in a setting only too perfect.
Sounds of Silence
You may have heard of the globally renowned Field of Light - an expanse of luminescent embers dotting the desert around Uluru’s moon shadow. Combining the Sounds of Silence dining experience with a once in a lifetime exploration of the light installation, this is the jewel in the Red Centre experience crown.
Start your evening at dusk with the Sounds of Silence and once you’ve had your fill of local delicacies and tales of the sky, make your way toward light glistened pathways and hear about the incredible details of this immersive art. Take your time and feel the ambience of the place all under a blanket of cool, quiet night sky.
A night at Field of Light
Field of Light
For something closer to the indigenous way of life, Tali Wiru brings to you an intimate gastronomic evening like none other. Tali Wiru (meaning ‘beautiful dune’) is a four-course, open air spectacle with each stage of your meal infused with local tastes, colours and love.
While the stunning views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta offer wonderment, the focus of this experience is the world class cuisine. With ingredients like local wallaby and quandong, toothfish, desert oak and muntries, you will fall for the outback and its flavours.
All foods are prepared with their own unique story & spiritual connection to the land and the local indigenous people, making this an experience that goes far beyond taste, scent and sight. Pair each dish as well with the brilliant array of local wines on the menu for premium dining in an incomparable setting.
