Travelling Film Festival, the regional tour of Sydney Film Festival, will return to Alice Springs in February 2023 at Alice Springs Cinema. The program will showcase nine acclaimed feature films, one superb documentary and three exceptional Australian short films, direct from Sydney Film Festival and other major international festivals.

Opening the festival is Sweet As, winner of the NETPAC Award at Toronto Film Festival, an endearing coming of age story which follows a 15-year-old Indigenous girl who finds escape and inspiration through photography during a youth-therapy trip in the stunning outback of Western Australia.

Other highlights include Close, winner Grand Prix at Cannes 2022, Lukas Dhont's stunningly beautiful examination of an intense teen friendship torn asunder; Beautiful Minds, in which a dour funeral director and philosophical delivery man make an oddball duo as they embark on an unconventional road trip in a captivating French comedy full of joie de vivre; Godland, direct from Cannes Un Certain Regard, award-winning Icelandic filmmaker Hlynur Pálmason’s new film is a stunning historical drama inspired by true events.
